Les Halles de la GareIn the train station a little city full of flavors to explore.I would love it more if the hours were more...for the restaurants to stay open longer.For the tourist even the locals this section of Montreal is a place to enjoy and travel.

Train was spotless and staff really helpful, but, delayed starting in montreal but instead of giving us the full facts, kept pushing boarding time back again and again and again, just as bad as British rail. Then on boarding we were told to just sit anywhere and not our allocated seats, this apparently was a selling point when we booked. Then there's the little matter of getting our heavy suitcases up to the luggage storage above our heads, come on, we are both pensioners and a bit more thought and planning needs to go into where we can put an 20k case. Other than that little whinge, very smooth ride and the drinks cart put British rail to shame

Not accurate with timing at all was supposed to arrive to Ottawa at 9:15 PM and we didn't leave Montreal until 9:00 and arrived to ottawa after midnight. Worst experience

THEIR EMPLOYEES NEED MORE TRAINING!!! I have a dog, in the past, I’ve been told by the employees: to put him in a cage because I brought a soft pet bag, it’s not acceptable; to put him in a soft bag because a cage takes too much space; to leave the dog with other luggages; to take the dog with me. To go directly to the train, to sign a form first online even though the ticket is booked on the phone and no one told me so. They always try to be nice by telling me they will let me go this time but I should be cared. But careful for what? If each of you have different rules… I appreciate the kindness but I prefer trained employees who know what they are talking about. your employees need more training.

We had a great time on the Ocean via train with cabin from Moncton to Montreal. Everyone was fantastic.

Unreliable. Trains are frequently late. Timetables and live updates aren’t reliable either (found out the hard way). I was supposed to get a free ticket after the train was more than 2 hours late. It was never issued then I find out I was supposed to request it myself from customer service, but oh, it’s past the deadline so no free ticket for me. They don’t have any concept of customer service. Staff are apathetic. They could not care less. To be avoided.

No reason to be early. Their ape brained staff will be late to board you as you stand like an idiot waiting to get on the train. Exploitative pricing. Paid way too much to be crammed in a child ridden car where sleep is not allowed with the recliners LOCKED. Cramped, loud and a huge waste of time and money. I agree that Canadian rail needs to die off. Overpaid idiots

Although expensive, I always prefer traveling by train than airplane. The VIA trains are very clean and spacious.
